Bowen Technique

Equine Bowen Technique is a gentle hands-on soft tissue manipulative therapy working over muscles and soft tissue that offers pain relief and balance to the body.

On a physical level, the moves are made over key neuro-muscular points that help release muscle spasm and increase blood supply to the affected areas.  However, it taps into our body's own innate ability to heal. As with animal aromatics, nothing is forced on the animal, bowen addresses muscular-skeletal misalignments by using the body's own healing capabilities in a gentle and stress free manner.

The moves are made using fingers and thumbs applying gentle pressure. A feature of Equine Bowen Therapy (EBT) is the resting periods that allow the body to absorb the information and respond accordingly.

Equine Bowen Technique is an integrated holistic approach, thereby improving circulation, lymphatic and venous drainage, helping assimilate nutrients and eliminate toxins.

If minor injuries are not corrected and treated they may change the horse’s action permanently because the compensatory action becomes habitual. The horse will move in a certain way to make itself more comfortable. In time this will change their appearance resulting in tension and muscle atrophy. Many owners report that their horses are more relaxed through the back, elevated in their strides and generally more forward going after a Bowen treatment.

Once internal imbalances are highlighted and addressed with iridology and animal aromatics, equine bowen technique can be used to improve any residual physical issues resulting from internal weaknesses such as muscle spasms.

Furthermore, equine bowen technique will expedite internal healing if used in conjunction with herbs. Combined with iridology and herbs, Bowen is a powerful tool to holistically bring your horse back to full health or give it that extra 10%.
