Valerian root is a powerful calmative herb, soothing the nervous system and easing tension and anxiety. It is often chosen by animals that hold their tension and anxiety in muscles. Valerian root is a powerful anti spasmodic herb, gently stimulating and soothing to the nervous system. Note: Valerian is banned under FEI regulation, so must not be used by competition horses. It is banned due to its effectiveness as a calming herb, as it is classed as ‘performance enhancing’.
Vervain is an excellent nerve tonic often selected for horses who express their anxiousness through their skin. Vervain helps strengthen and restore the nervous system.
German Chamomile is a gentle relaxant, relaxing nervous tension without side effects. Chamomile offers a range of nutritional support to your horse including digestive support and is therefore often selected by horses that have digestive problems as a result of their anxiety.
Naturally Animals herbal blends are 100% natural. Our herbs are wild grown with little or no cultivation or intervention. Our wide selection is based on our extensive zoopharmacognosy knowledge, providing all that is needed to satisfy a horse’s innate instinct for foraging plants to rebalance the body.
Our herbal blends nutritionally support the body, and should not be seen as an alternative to veterinary intervention. They are intended to bet used in conjunction with any ongoing veterinary support.
Daily recommended dose between 15 and 50g per day, depending on the size of horse and level of support needed.
We recommend that you offer the individual herbs within our blends periodically to ensure that the herbs are still required by your horse and that you are not feeding the herbal blends when they are no longer required.
