Naturally Mare is a blend that supports the needs of mares during their seasons, maintaining hormonal balances as well as reducing inflammation and anxiety that often accompanies the hormonal cycle.
Chasteberry maintains normal hormonal activity and provides support to the pituitary gland and whole endocrine system. Chasteberry is also used to support normal hormonal activity in mares, stallions and geldings where there is an imbalance as it helps balance hormones and therefore useful for moody mares, riggy geldings.
Liquorice root supports the hormonal system as it contains chemicals similar to the human adrenal hormones and therefore can be used to regulate the female cycle as well as to balance the adrenal glands and stress hormones. The anti inflammatory properties of licorice also aid in keeping the mare comfortable and reducing any inflammation present during her cycle.
Caution should be used as too much liquorice root over a prolonged period of time may lead to excretion of potassium and retention of sodium in the body leading to higher blood pressure and water retention/lymphathic issues.
Milk Thistle Seeds are very valuable in the treatment of any liver disorder. It is also the herb of choice to detoxify the body. Milk thistle contains a flavoniod (Vitamine P) called silymarin that has a direct effect on the liver, therefore protecting the liver from damage caused by viruses and toxins. It may also help to regenerate damaged liver cells.
Milk thistle is also rich in iodine and herb of choice for horses with an imbalance within their endocrine system.
Valerian root is a powerful calmative herb, soothing the nervous system and easing tension and anxiety. It is often chosen by animals that hold their tension and anxiety in muscles. Valerian root is a powerful anti spasmodic herb, gently stimulating and soothing to the nervous system.
