Zoopharmacosy refers to the process by which animals self-medicate, and naturally forage organic herbs, plants and their essential oils, algae, clays and other natural remedies.

Our Zoopharmacognosy experience days are aimed at introducing the animal owner to this fascinating process, with plenty of practical demonstrations.

You will:

  • Learn more about the technique and how it can help your animals / fit into your daily routine
  • Learn, through demonstrations, how to read an animals responses towards offered essential oils, macerates, organic herbs and other natural remedies
  • Recognise self-medicative behavior in animals, offering them the opportunity to enhance their own well-being

"It was absolutely awe-inspiring and it certainly brought home to me the very powerful positive effects that natural plants, herbs and oils can have on animals that self-select them". Melanie

On this course we spend the morning in the classroom learning some key theory and having fun experimenting ourselves, and the afternoon is spent watching demonstration with a horse.

For Dog Courses a similar format, and a couple of attendees will have the opportunity to bring their dogs as demo dogs!
